Your Pain Is Just Part of Being a Woman

Let me be clear: pain is not a rite of passage, a badge of femininity, or some biological tax we pay for having ovaries.

But somewhere along the way, we got fed the idea that:

  • Cramping so badly you throw up is “just part of it”

  • Missing work, school, or your actual life is “normal”

  • Being curled up with a heating pad and prescription painkillers is what strong women do

Let me ask you this: if men bled out of their genitalia every month and passed clots the size of grapes, do you think society would shrug and say “that’s just being a man”?

Didn’t think so.

Here’s what they don’t tell you:

✔️ Period pain can be common.
✔️ That doesn’t make it normal.

Painful periods are a symptom, not a personality trait.
And no, “just take the pill” is not a fix — it’s a pause button.

So what causes painful periods?

👉 Crippling cramps? Could be too much prostaglandin production.
👉 Clots or heavy bleeding? Could be estrogen dominance or inflammation.
👉 Pain that knocks you down for days? Could be endometriosis, fibroids, or nervous system burnout.

And you deserve better than “It’s just hormones” or “You’ll grow out of it.

Here’s what I want you to know:

  • You’re allowed to ask questions.

  • You’re allowed to feel angry.

  • You’re allowed to want relief — without being told to “relax” or “just be grateful you get a period at all.”

Because being a woman shouldn’t hurt this much.
And you don’t have to settle for suffering.

You’re not broken.
You’ve just been lied to.

And I’m done being quiet about it.
